R.I.P. M.J.

I saw this the night it aired. I was so into M.J.at the time that when I heard Diane Sawyer was going to be interviewing him, I got a VHS tape ready and recorded it. I still have the VHS tape at home...

Luckily I found it on YouTube. Check out M.J. on the beat box... NUTS.

Me and my mom were watching this live that night. It was the 50th anniversary of Motown Records. This was the night I became a real fan of Michael. This was also the night he performed the Moonwalk for the first time 3 mins and 50 seconds into the performance. You could hear the people in my building SCREAM (just like everyone in the crowd) when he pulled that off. I was in the hallway right afterwards practicing that shit...

I practiced all the dances in the video for Smooth Criminal. Peep the moonwalk he does while he's STANDING STILL 2mins and 25 seconds into the video. Took me a week to figure that out.

Just found this on YouTube. Mike was the truth on the dance floor. Fuck.

YOUNG Mike doin' it reaaaal big. Only James Brown could do that any better.

Peace Mike. See you on the flip side.
